Welcome to the 2013 Desert Southwest Fire & EMS Leadership Conference, designed for the development of fire and EMS professionals at all levels.  The conference has an outstanding list of general session presenters and workshop offerings that focus on a wide variety of leadership topics.  The workshops this year have been developed around four focus areas: Company Officer Development, Contemporary  Issues, Leadership Skills Development, and Command & Control.

Company Officer Development (CO): Focused on the upwardly mobile company officer who is looking to enhance his/her  leadership skills and prepare him or herself for promotion to chief officer.

Contemporary Issues (CI): Focusing on significant issues, challenges or opportunities facing emergency services today.  Developed with the chief officer in mind but applicable to leadership at any level.

Leadership Skills Development (LS): Focusing on topics that will help the leader develop or further refine their skills in specific topic areas.

Command & Control (CC): Focusing on topics relating to incident management from a leadership perspective and will address current issues and/or events.

The focus areas are for general guidance only and you are not restricted from signing up for workshops in any of the focus areas.

In addition to the conference sessions there are a number of special events including a welcome reception on Tuesday evening and the presidential celebration banquet on Friday.

The technology and equipment expo will again be held in the University of Phoenix stadium, home to the Arizona Cardinals NFL football team, this year and is the largest fire and EMS expo in the southwest.  Don't miss over 120,000 square feet of the latest in fire and EMS vehicles and technology presented by nearly 200 exhibitors.

And for the dedicated golfer the 11th annual Steve Alley Memorial Golf tournament will be held on Saturday on the Gold Course at the Wigwam Golf Club, one of the premier golf courses in the valley.  Proceeds will go to support the Arizona Local Assistance State Team (L.A.S.T).

Continuing Education Credit:  We are pleased to announce that this year's conference has been approved for 24 CEU's (8 CEU's for single day attendance) through the Arizona Center for Fire Service Excellence.  Attendees will receive certificates of attendance following the completion of the conference.  CEU credit will be entered into the AzCFSE database for those that have an ERMA idenfitication number.  Information concerning the ERMA identification number can be found on the fees/activities page.
